The University of Gloucestershire is looking for PhD researchers in the Technical and Applied Computing subject area to join our dynamic, successful and expanding community.
Located at the beautiful Park Campus in Cheltenham, the University is investing heavily in staff and facilities. Student applications are rising rapidly and last year we opened our new state-of-the-art Computing research labs.
The Technical and Applied Computing subject area is part of the University of Gloucestershire’s School of Computing and Engineering, which is developing its range of courses and we have an opportunity for a talented individual with a real flair for teaching and research to join the team.
A key focus for the University is preparing students for their future careers.
We are looking for PhD applications from Computing specialists who will ideally have experience in research in Higher Education and have an interest in research and development in a Computer Science area. The applicant(s) should have technical and research skills in networking, cybersecurity, programming, Mathematics and/or data science.
The successful PhD researcher candidate(s) will offer the opportunity to deliver a range of modules at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Applicants must also have a demonstrable high level of technical skills and excellence in the use of Windows and Linux-based operating systems and other relevant tools.
Recent industry knowledge is desirable and an enthusiasm to publish in conferences and journals would be an advantage.
The appointee(s) will need to have excellent communication skills and demonstrable success when working in a team environment.
