Every year, about 20 outstanding students are accepted into the Trustee Scholars Program at BU.

Many of our current Scholars achieved perfect 4.0 grade point averages and were at the top of their class in high school.

About Boston Institution

Boston Institution is a Boston, Massachusetts-based private research university.

Although the university is nonsectarian, it has a long history with the United Methodist Church.

Founded by Methodists in 1839, the university’s first campus was in Newbury, Vermont, before moving to Boston in 1867.

How to Apply

To be considered for a Trustee Scholarship:

  • Submit the Common or Coalition Application and all required materials for admission to one of the undergraduate degree programs at BU by December 1.
  • Complete the Trustee Scholarship essay on the Common or Coalition Application as part of your application to BU.
